I could be cranky this summer

According to my weather widget, it's 54 degrees outside right now.
Explain to me then why the thermometer on the bulletin board in my office looks like this:

Something's got to get fixed before it gets too warm outside. I don't want to start looking for a job in a Honduran sweat shop just to get cooler working conditions.
